When times are good, it's tempting to reach out into a horizontal market and pick up all the low lying fruit around you. When things change, all the horizontal people (funding sources, brokers...) become vertical and either refocus, or go away. This leaves many brokers searching for a product, searching for a funding source, new vendor, anything that will allow them to be consistent.
One of the main reasons for the success of P&L Capital is that we have developed a niche product and we focus on what we do best. We have found our spot in the industry, our vertical market. I consistently get questions on POS systems, VOIP, trucks, trailers, you name it. Brokers are calling trying to find a home for their deals. We subscribe to the philosophy that you figure out who you are, what you are good at, what you can focus on, and go after that business. In our opinion, you cannot be all things to all people.
With this philosophy in mind, P&L Capital is enjoying another successful year. With growth around 15%, we continue that focus. With our TRL product, WE control our deals, and as we add to our client base, the clients that have been rotating for years are staying with us. I know exactly who leased with us on a 3 year rotation 3 years ago, and I know exactly what equipment is coming back to us in the next couple of months. Knowing that we want this equipment back, and knowing that these clients will need additional equipment to replace the outdated equipment from the previous lease, we can project revenues as much as 3 months out. As we add to our client base, take care of our existing clients, and stay focused on our solution, growth just happens.

Control your sale, differentiate yourself from every other broker out there who is selling the same product as you are, and enjoy adding value to your clients along the way.
